Their working hours are not fixed, went there at 1:38pm and the staff were still eating. Very unorganized institutions.

I usually refrain from leaving reviews, but I can't help myself here. A lot is going wrong at your institute. You are a disgrace to a German institution. Emails go unanswered, and NO, it has nothing to do with "staff shortages or increased inquiries." I received a reply to one email, but after I sent another, I got a response 10 minutes later with just a greeting, and that was it. Further emails to every single employee were ignored! Phone calls go unanswered – the line is busy. Individual inquiries are ignored. I contacted the Goethe Institute's central office in Munich and received a reply

A truly terrible institution worldwide, and they don't respond to emails.

I had a great experience at the Goethe-Institut. The exam process was handled with the utmost professionalism and respect. Everything was well-organized, and the results were delivered quickly.

Five stars are far too few for the excellent service provided by the examination staff at the institute. Fünf Sterne sind zu wenig für die hochwertige Behandlung des Prüfungspersonals am Institut

I had three German exams and a German course here. They were very cooperative and polite. The exams and courses are, to some extent, well organized. During the exam registration days, things can become messy and the place will be crowded. It is better to arrive early morning to make sure you will have your place in the exam.

I recommend to visit this place

The staff are very professional and helpful, and the institute is very organized and clean, but the exam procedures are a bit long and involve waiting, so everyone who comes to the exam needs to be well-rested.

Originally from Google

The course prices are very expensive... $600 per level $50 for the course materials per level $200 for the exam at the end of each level...

Originally from Google

There is tremendous pressure and no one is received without a prior appointment. The procedures are quite difficult.

Very good

Thank you ❤️

No personal headpiece for the Hören test..Bathrooms were terrible, but very nice workers

Communication with the staff is terrible. At an appointment, we were racially abused by a staff member and refused entry. Even though we had an appointment, a student from your school was given preferential treatment. I urgently request that the Goethe Institute contact information be used to address this issue! Otherwise, everything would be fine.

This institution should be taken to court. Today the 22nd of August 2024, in the Start Deutsch 1 exam, they brought a trainee teacher and spent 15 minutes FROM THE EXAM TIME teaching her how to read the questions to the examinees. They wrote on the board that the exam started at 9:10 then afterwards spent 15 minutes training the new teacher how to read the questions, then finally started playing the tapes of the Hören/listening part at 9:25. In what world is the person taking the exam responsible for the time that the institution spends training its interns? Of course nobody will be held accou

One of the worst institution. Most of the test takers do not give them a passing grade on purpose and they do not give any justification for it and they do not even respond to the protest emails. That is not fare for who paid money and three years learning german language and practice a lot of tests.

I have been waiting for the B1 course to start for 3 months, they never answer properly when i ask when it starts, they don’t answer my emails either, they have the worst service ever existed. One star is too much for an organization like that. Never pay them a vist. They wasted 3 months of my life. Don’t let them do the same with you

6 months waiting for a course and they never called! Actually, one star is too much for their management and customer service! I got an A1 Certificate on Goethe online and I have registered myself for A2 in October 2020 in Goethe Erbil. I have been calling them ever since, they either didn't answer or said that "it has not started yet, we call you back" I sent an email to Bebak Dawdi from Liaison Office on April 15th and they still didn't reply to my email. I just called them again and they said "yes we opened a new A2 course recently" and they NEVER called. I almost forgot everything that I

We are calling within working hours as they instructed, But phone was out of coverage!!!? Why you are providing telephone service??,. And furthermore why you are exhibiting at erbil education fair if you didn't want to answer over phone!!!.

Unfortunately, the Goethe Institute in Iraq does not offer online payment for exam bookings or German language course registration, a feature available in most other Arab countries. Furthermore, registration is overcrowded and poorly organized. Candidates are required to wait outside the institute until 8:00 AM on exam day, even in inclement weather such as rain, causing unnecessary hardship. In addition, the institute does not offer another branch for the B2 exam, unlike in other Arab countries. This forces all candidates to travel to Erbil, which is one of the most remote cities in Iraq fo

Honestly, this place deserves more than one star. There were many good professors, but not the rest. The procedures were excessively long, especially in the Shabghishin department. They wouldn't let anyone go outside or do anything; we were practically imprisoned. The room was freezing cold in the middle of summer, and I got sick. The bathrooms, excuse my language, were filthy. There was no hygiene, no tissues, no soap, nothing. And on top of that, they were mixed-gender. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Some time ago, my wife took the A1 exam at Goethe and unfortunately failed. Her staff told her she would have to buy the certificate for about $3000, otherwise she would fail the exam several times. Unfortunately, this wasn't what the Goethe team expected.

Originally from Google

The prices here seem corrupt. The $300 fee is supposedly for "more flexibility" so that the next exam can be administered more quickly if you fail. But then the examiners deliberately make it so you fail. The treatment of students is degrading, and the exams are much harder than the practice material. This misconduct must be reported in Germany.

Originally from Google

The website lists a price of $300 for the A1 exam. On-site, the price is $350. Each student is therefore paying $50 more than necessary. Furthermore, scheduling appointments is unreliable, and phone and email inquiries are completely ignored. It's a real shame that this institution bears Goethe's name...

It's reminiscent of a prison: a dreary building with barbed wire, and a friend of mine was only given water and biscuits during her eight-hour exam, and wasn't allowed to bring in any food. As a German, I find it embarrassing that people who want to learn our language are received like this, especially in such a hospitable culture as this one.

Originally from Google

A terrible experience. After what seemed like an eternity, they finally made an appointment, only to cancel it the day before the exam. I didn't hear back for two weeks. They didn't respond to emails or phone calls. I expected more professionalism from a German institute.

Originally from Google

I've never seen anything like this before, I mean, getting an appointment for the A1 exam registration was so difficult. I've been waiting for weeks for an appointment, but no results. They're always closed, even during opening hours. If I don't get an appointment in the coming weeks, I'm going to contact my lawyer.

Originally from Google

The written and oral exams are abnormally difficult. I will forward this information to the German consulate in Germany about how you're ripping people off. People from Slemani have to pay $350, but people from Erbil only pay $300. Furthermore, they informed me that the examiners aren't German, only Kurdish, and they themselves are ripping people off. I will forward this to Goethe in Germany.
