This bazaar is at the foot of the main entrance to the citadel. There is an awful lot to explore and the sights and smells are incredible. I came here at least three times during my stay in Erbil - it's really the beating heart of the city. A great place to people watch and soak in all of the culture and richness that Kurdistan has to offer.

Historical and cultural shopping area in Hawler, must visit as it's right next to the Citadel. Beautiful architecture and you can find anything that you are looking for. Most stores close at sunset, suggested to go earlier than 6PM.

Qaysari Bazaar
.
Erbil contains an extensive Qaysari, just south of the citadel in the center of town that was first established in the early 13th century AD. The Qaysari is entered through numerous alleys surrounding the Qaysari. Once inside, shoppers walk through a maze of narrow paths between the shops, underneath a roof of corrugated metal. Most alleys feature a unique product that is sold by a majority of the vendors in that location. The northeast corner of the Qaysari contains a north-south alley offering honey and dairy products, such as yogurt and cheeses. Many shops offer Chai Kurdi

Grand Bazaar is one of the most vibrant places to experience the real atmosphere of Erbil. Walking through the covered alleys feels like stepping into a living piece of history, full of colors, spices, fabrics, and small shops. The energy of the place is incredible and you can find almost everything, from traditional items to everyday goods.
The people are welcoming and the market has an authentic charm that makes wandering around a real pleasure. If you want to feel the heartbeat of the city, this is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss.

A fantastic bazaar in the oldest city!
Interesting and friendly place to visit Erbil. You won't find genuine biblical antiques, but you will find Kurdish people doing their everyday shopping for authentic Iraqi produce. Spices, kurdish clothing, gold, fish, vegetables, sweets, and some antiques.
It is far too easy to spend hours exploring the maze of busyyy alleyways with the rich aromas of spices wafting throughout the bazaar.
Not many places can brag about being the oldest (or one of the oldest!) continually inhabited city in the world - enjoy!

This market consists of a spacious, elevated, and sprawling hall with two main entrances: a southern gate and a western gate. These entrances, distributed along several sides, lead visitors to various branches and entrances, ultimately resulting in numerous shops and commercial establishments. Furthermore, the market features several skylights that allow for light and ventilation.
Recently, the market has been restored to its original architectural style, reflecting the construction of the fortress while preserving its purely commercial character. It still includes sections dedicated to golds

Thé central bazar, bustling with activity, small shops, coffee shops and restaurants where you can grab something to eat is awesome. An overwhelming blend of aromas, fragrances and - above all- sounds. Stop and try the Baklava, sweets made of filo pastry and covered with syrup and honey...Forrest Gump’s box of chocolate has got nothing on these!

Nice area during the day however we went back at night for food and we got some people that weren't to happy with us that made there views extremely clear, however we kept going and they went away.
Hopefully it was only a random once off and it's not normally like that
