Lovely staff , so clean and really good restaurants, it’s expensive ( little) but it’s worth, every detail there made with love , you can fell it , so nice restaurants and I really recommended it , if you have special day to remember it

I can’t believe why this place was empty when I came in. The vibes, music, service and the decorations are mood changing. I was looking for a change from the traditional restaurant and this place made feel the change.

Spent two excellent evenings here. Characterful restaurant with delicious food and drink. Plus the staff are very attentive and friendly. NB - cash only.

The shisha is good. The location is excellent. The prices are somewhat high. I recommend it for friends and couples. The place is not suitable for children.

Visit Date: October 31, 2025 - Lunch Location: Salim Street - Close to Halwachy Sweets - Sulaimaniya Design: The restaurant has fairly modern and cosy design with seating areas available on two levels. The seating is good but not that comfy. In general, it is good but nothing outstanding. Food: Mandela Salad (3.0/5.0), Chicken Fajita (1.5/5.0) the chicken was super dry and extremely hard to swallow without a drink and carrot juice (3.5/5.0) . Price: for the above items and one bottle of water, the bill was 54,250 IQD (39.6 USD). I think for this type of food and service, it is a very high

The best rip off I experienced, there is live music in most of bars on the weekends. But here they charge you 25,000 IQD per person for it. And they have not even mentioned when I reserved a table. It's free everwhere else. The staff kept forgetting our orders and we had to remind them a few times. The music was good, the sound quality was average.

The menu reads "we are not perfect but we are original" Certainly not perfect, but I wouldn't call untimely and mildly rude service original. The interior decoration is nice. Had a lovely time here with my family and friends regardless. I'm told the staff and interior has changed recently, which would explain why the average is so high, but my experience was a 2/5 Cheapest bottle of champagne is 50 dollars and it's not champagne, just an unnamed prosecco

this owner the place kick me and my guest out, the reason is one of my friend has criticized the bar man of his rudeness months a go , the name of place is mandela the person who spent all his life for freedom But the owner of the place didnt handle one polite comment in the review . hope he apologize for what happened

I didn’t have a good experience at this place. Very slow service. I waited more than 40 minuets for salad. Not a good quality food. I don’t recommend it at all. I have never been in a worse restaurant. A complete joke.

Mandela Cafe has a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and very friendly staff. The live music makes the experience even more enjoyable and creates a perfect setting for a relaxing evening with friends.

Adorable place has a wide collection of books and paints .I feel like touring the world in a very authentic embiance.The menu has a lot of varieties of Salads,Starters,plates drinks and alcoholic drinks. Everything is tasty and the service is very welcoming . The owner is always there to welcome his guests. It is a unique experience I love this place and I am addicted to it so I will manage to try everything in the menu and enjoy the live music in the evening.

Literally the best place in Iraq & Kurdistan. The staff is very professional and their food is absolutely incredible. The mood is very cozy and warm and the balcony has a great view over Salim street. I highly recommend it.

This was the most beautiful restaurant I've been to in all of Iraq, by far. The atmosphere is lovely! The food is great! I've tasted the BEST pizza in there, too bad I don't remember its name. HIGHLY recommended. I would definitely go again.

Absolutely incredible place, the decor is like nowhere else I’ve ever ate, absolutely gorgeous. Who knew that the food and drinks could be even better. The Lamb Chops and Steaks were affordable and absolutely delicious. A real great experience.

A exquiste place that holds a unique mixture of multi cultrural decor in one place. I enjoyed the live piano performance and was previlliged to meet the owner who showed the artistic details of the place that he designed himslef. Staff are very respectful and welcoming. This place is just unique. If you happen to be in Sulaimanyah, visit Chalak's restaurant for the best Kurdish and international cuisine, great beer, friendly service and beautiful ambience. Loved it!
