The University of Duhok (UoD) is the oldest and most prestigious university in the Duhok Governorate. Established as a leading academic institution in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, it offers diverse programs in medicine, engineering, humanities, and more. The university is famous for its large campus and its scenic location at the foot of the mountain, providing an inspiring environment for thousands of students. It remains a primary hub for academic excellence and scientific research.

Definitely the most comfortable college in Duhok, The student's center has almost everything a student would need. The places for the students to hang out at and eat at need to be extended though, other than that, the college has a variety of activities and conferences annually and offers many opportunities for people with talent. The campus is a safe and comfortable space for students to be at.

The University of Duhok was established on October 31, 1992, following a decision by the Kurdistan Regional Government's parliament to address the growing demand for higher education in the region. Due to the difficult living conditions students faced in the region at the time, and to enable them to continue their studies in the province, the university was established in the 1990s with a few colleges, departments, and a small teaching staff. However, after its success and the professors' effective teaching, the university expanded to include other colleges such as medicine, engineering, science, arts, education, and others.

A truly wonderful place, and our trip included some of the most beautiful archaeological sites and waterfalls.
