The University of Sulaimani is a public university located in the city of Sulaimani in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is one of the most important scientific and cultural centers in the Kurdistan Region. It was founded by Professor Dr. Muhammad Salih Beg in 1968 and reopened in 1992.

چالاک و دەوڵەمەند لە ھەموو بوارە جیاوازەکانی زانست و مرۆڤایەتیدا کە ساڵ لە دوای ساڵ ژمارەی بەش و مامۆستا و خوێندکاری زیاتر لەخۆ دەگرێت یەکێکە لە گەورەترین زانکۆکانی کوردستان و ساڵانە ٤٠٠٠ - ٥٠٠٠ خوێندکاری نوێ وەردەگێت، بە ھەوڵ و کۆششی دڵسۆزان و مامۆستایان و خوێندکاران زانکۆی سلێمانی نەوەی نوێی خستۆتەوە و چەندین زانکۆی تری لە کوردستان لێکەوتۆتەوە و ھەموو سوچێکی ئەم کوردستانەی بە مەشخەڵی زانست و ڕووناکبیری ڕۆشن کردۆتەوە و ئەم زانکۆیەش ئێستا لە ٢٥ کۆلێژ پێکھاتووە نزیکەی ١٤٠٠٠ خوێندکار تێیدا دەخوێنن، جگە لە نزیکەی ٧٠٠ خویندکاری خوێندنی باڵا و ڕۆژ لە دوای ڕۆژ لە گەشەسەندن و پێشکەوتندایە.

Very Big and Beautiful university and well designed .but one thing that I noticed is that there is no parking space for cars when I visited there I saw many cars parked in front of university and beside main street , my recommendation is that to make the environment more better .

The most elegant building in sulaimania as a university, This built in a recommendation of mam jalal ( president of Iraq at that time ) and Dr barham supervised this construction directly when he was a Prime Minister of kurdistan , the first project manager was an engineer ( shler khan ) and she almost finished it before she go to Parliament , And about the scientific level, still the first university in iraq ..

The best university and beautiful in iraq. It is important to mentioned that this is the firat university in the kurdistan in 1968. After that becauae of the some politics issue it transformed to Erbil city in 1981. This university has more than 20 colleges and it has more 20,000 students in three camps. Also they have many active teachers and students that they have many activities in there university. Best place for engineering in kurdstan College of Engineering was one of the three colleges opened with the establishment of the University of Sulaimani in 1968. The college started with the Department of Civil Engineering, which admitted 44 students for the first academic year of (1968-1969). In (1973-1974), the Department of Electrical Engineering was added to the college with the acceptance of 30 students. The first graduated BSc class was in (1971-1972). The number of students was steadily increasing throughout the years that followed. By (1981), 1451 students graduated in 10 BSc classes

I think it is the best among Iraqi universities. I do love it so much. I taught in it more than 18 years.

University of Sulaimani University of Sulaimani (UoS) was first established in 1968, the main campus is located in the city of Sulaimani in Kurdistan of Iraq. In the beginning there were only three colleges but during the years that followed, the number of the colleges increased dramatically as the result of growing demands of higher education in the country. In 1981, the former Iraqi regime transferred this academic establishment to the city of Erbil (Hawler) and the name was changed to become (University of Salahaddin). In 1992 University of Sulaimani was reestablished by tremendous effort
